Our little guy is 23 Weeks along as of today. Today is very special because our little one is now officially viable outside the womb. By the time New Year's Eve rolls around, Baby A will have a greater than 90% chance of surviving if he's born. How is that for something to celebrate!? Needless to say, he is going to be very busy growing big and strong over the next couple of weeks. Last week, he was already weighing in at about 1.5 pounds (according to our doctor and the u/s technician) which means he's measuring about 2 weeks ahead of schedule! He has had all of the normal tests and measurements done already and we're told he's in great shape all around. And he is definitely getting bigger! His kicks are now straight my ribcage. :)
Our next regular Dr's appointment is scheduled for tomorrow, 12/11. Mark and I plan to ask the Doc about getting a tour of the birthing facility, when I'll be induced (if there's a chance it'll be earlier than March 26 now that's he's 2 weeks ahead) and figure out what the deal is with my lovenox shots (which I administer myself now!) if I go into labor early... All sorts of fun stuff. We'll keep you all posted if the target induction date ends up being earlier. I'm shocked Mark and I will be parents in a little over 3 months from now!!! Only 14-15 more weeks to go!
As for me, my back has been hurting a lot lately from the extra weight in front. I'm getting tired more easily (am sure my crazy work schedule has had something to do with that) too. However, Mark has been GREAT. He has been picking me up from work so I don't need to walk home in the cold/dark. He is also very careful not to let me carry a lot of stuff up and down the stairs. I'm very lucky to have such an great, supportive husband. In other news, the nursery is just about done. The crib and changing table have arrived and have been assembled. All painting is complete and our little guy's name is now plastered up on the wall with painted, wooden letters. Now I just need to start organizing all of his little outfits and baby gear! But that's the fun part!
