Update (Dec. 6 - 22 Weeks 3 Days)

I'm 22 Weeks and 3 Days along today. Mark and I went to another ultrasound this past Thursday (12/4). Everything is great and our little guy is - get this - actually now measuring TWO WEEKS ahead of schedule. I was 22 Weeks as of the appointment and the doc said our little guy was already about 1.5lbs. It's certainly nothing to be concerned about. If anything, it continues to be great news because of the fact I'll be induced at least two weeks early. And our little one is most definitely a boy (confirmed again on this ultrasound). :) We have our next Dr's appointment (just a regular checkup) this coming Thursday. We're going to ask our Doctor about getting a tour of the delivery area and seeing what to do if I end up going into labor even before she plans to induce me. In other news, our little guy is VERY ACTIVE these days. In fact, he kept me up about 3 nights this past week with all of his kicking. I can feel him getting bigger because his kicks are now right in my ribs! ha! Mark has felt him kicking now a number of times. Mark is even surprised at how active this little man is. Baby A kicked him about 6 times in a row this past week. :) And as you can see in the picture above (taken today), I'm getting MUCH bigger. I'm still at the 21lb mark for weight gain but my stomach is already huge! I guess it makes sense since my little man is 2 weeks ahead of schedule...but still! About a week ago, my belly button (normally a freakish innie) started to pop. At this rate, it may very well make an appearance by the time Xmas rolls around. I'm feeling great (even if it's becoming difficult to sleep). My sis-in-law Amanda gave me her old u-shaped pregnancy pillow and it has helped so much. Getting comfortable at night is becoming a huge challenge. But I'm loving this entire experience. I can't wait to see our baby in March. This is going to be such an incredible New Year.

Here's an update of where our little guy is at 22 weeks... "The grow must go on! No wonder you’re getting so big, you’re now housing a wonder-baby who weighs nearly a pound and measures nearly a foot in length [
or in Baby A's case 1.5lbs and over a foot!]. Their perfect little pancreas is now further developed and they’ve also started producing their own hormones! Your baby's future in the circus as a world-famous tight-rope-walker is secure: their inner ear is now developed to the point that they have their own sense of balance. Lucky for your little explorer, balance also promotes physical dexterity, which has them actively feeling out their surroundings where skin, body parts, and the resident umbilical cord are the big sensory experiences. Your baby, is looking a bit like an over sized raisin right now as more and more wrinkles are showing up each week. Not to worry, all that excessive wrinkling is just their skin’s way of planning ahead for the time when they’ll start piling on that irresistible baby chub."
