Sadly, the entire weekend wasn't so fabulous. At the end of the day, I was nursing Brady and noticed I had started to bleed - a lot. I was frantic. There was so much blood and I started cramping. I called Mark and told him I needed to go the ER immediately. I didn't find out until later but I guess almost all of the stuff was still in the Uhaul
and Mark's Dad had to actually unload the truck and put everything into the storage unit on his own (meanwhile, Mark started sprinting home - while trying to catch a cab - right after I called him). Although feeling scared and sad, I was OK until he got home. I got Brady ready to go to the hospital and everything. Mark finally ran into the front door and the look on his face reminded me what exactly was happening...and I started to freak out. We piled into the car and drove (through all the red lights) Boston Medical Center. I was passing out in the back of the car
as we drove to the ER. Long story short, they brought me right into the trauma room and gave him two IVs (one in each arm) in case I needed a blood transfusion. I was screaming with the pain and general trauma of the entire event. Poor Mark could only hear me scream as he had to give the people at the front desk some general information and find a nurse to watch Brady for a few minutes so he could check on me. Ugh. They gave me oxygen and liquids and my blood pressure and heart rate finally stabilized. Turns out I was so freaked out by all the bleeding and cramping I was having - and the entire event in general - that my heart was reacting by slowing down - and blood pressure followed. Once I calmed down, I was much better and the color returned to my face. I had a few internal exams and an ultrasound and they actually saw a heartbeat! But they also found a very, very large clot and gave our little one a 50/50 chance. I spent the next few days in bed - just waiting for what I thought was inevitable. Went back for an u/s at Brigham and Women's on Tuesday morning and my clot was GONE. They u/s technician and my doctors were amazed. So there you have it - we're having a miracle baby. :)

At the ER, they measured a series of large clots that took up more than 50% of the sac area. But my u/s Tuesday morning showed a strong heartbeat and our little miracle is hanging in there!
