We are now in Week 11! Less than one week until we're in the Second Trimester (phew!). Shown below is our Week 11 update of our little 2 1/2 inch pumpkin. Our ultrasound next week (Thursday) will mark the second day in our second trimester! We are very excited and getting less nervous with each new day (especially since my stomach continues to expand at record speed - see the pic on the left!!!!)... I already feel like I'm all belly and I still have 6 days left in the 2nd trimester! I feel like I won't be able to walk without falling over come the 3rd...The 11th Week is the tail end of the First Trimester and all of our baby's vital organs are now formed and functioning, so the risk of defects decreases this week as your baby becomes much less susceptible to outside influences (woohoo!). Now in an ultrasound we'd be able to see our little one flailing his or her arms and legs and doing somersaults! The baby is around 2 1/2 inches long and half an ounce in weight.
