Brady is 32 Weeks and 4 Days old today (or 7 Months and 4 Days). I figure it's probably about time to start counting in months rather than in weeks. :) Brady's balance has improved significantly over the past week. He can now pull himself (without ANY help!!!) into a standing position. I kid you not - I'm still amazed each time I see him do it! Let me back up... there is quite a bit to announce here. I think I need another bulleted list...
(1) TEETH! On Tues., Nov. 3, Mark and I could feel Brady's first tooth coming in - very sharp. We could see it about to pop through his gum - poor guy! It was one on the bottom - one over from center (on Brady's right side). On Fri., Nov. 6, that tooth made an appearance. His first tooth! Oh but that wasn't all! Last night, we could see not one but his first TWO teeth on the bottom (the two in the center). They are small but razor sharp! This certainly explains why his sleep schedule has been off for a while now. And yep - as soon as those two teeth made an appearance, Brady slept from 7pm to 4am - a significant improvement from the past 2+ months. Man, teething is F-U-N. He has been gnawing on cold, peeled carrots all week. That and pacifiers. He doesn't use pacifiers like normal babies (never has)...but we now found a good use for them. Pop them in the fridge and then hand them over so he can chew on them!
(2) STANDING! Brady can now pull himself into a standing position. He can also stand up now with just one hand on something for support. He can also turn around while standing and cruise around a bit more. He loves to walk back and forth between us. He will walk right up to me and then throw his arms around my neck and plant a big wet kiss on my chin. Too cute! He's starting to get "hug" and "kiss". Mark and I bought him a leap frog activity table (we figured he deserved a treat for all that teething!). He will stand up and play with it (no support from us) for minutes on end. It's his new favorite toy. Since Brady can pull himself up now, Mark had to move his crib down to its low point this past weekend. We also (finally) removed his baby mobile. Bittersweet changes.
(3) FOOD! Some new ones this week - raspberries (fresh and organic), yogurt, and full graham cracker pieces...along with fresh pumpkin and spaghetti! He loved all of it except the yogurt...I suspect it was a bit too tart for his liking. But oh how he LOVES raspberries (almost as much as blueberries) and graham crackers. He also had spaghetti with sauce (butternut squash mixed with organic tomato sauce) for the first time. He is a BIG fan of spaghetti...but I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised. He is part Italian. :)
