Mark and I are headed to the hospital right now! My Mom arrived yesterday afternoon and my Dad got into town late this morning. We all went to breakfast at our favorite casual spot (the diner down the street) and enjoyed these last few moments before becoming parents (or in my parents' case - super grandparents having had 3 other grandkids this year!). After breakfast, we took Mom and Dad McD for a "dry run" to the hospital, which is about 5 minutes from our house. We showed them exactly how to get to the hospital, where the parking garage is and which building to go to. For those of you outside the city who have visited before, you can probably appreciate that Boston can be a Bit confusing when it comes to driving around. After the "dry run", we dropped my Dad off at his hotel and Mark took my Mom to the grocery store. I actually went back home and attempted to take a relaxing nap...not a simple task when you know you're going to become a parent within hours. I finally fell asleep and managed to get a bit of a rest to gear up for what will inevitably be a very loooooong night at the hospital. As for the rest of our fam, the soon-to-be Grampa and Grandma Andersen get into Logan airport tomorrow around 12:15pm. Uncle Ted, Aunt Amanda, Anna, Nick, Ben and Zach are driving up to Boston this afternoon (yes, they're driving up from VA with 4 kids - including 9-10mo triplets!) and will likely get in sometime tomorrow morning. Everyone is very excited to meet our little guy - but Mark and I are ecstatic...not to mention incredibly anxious (ok, that's me). We'll keep everyone posted and will post pictures on the blog as soon as we can.
Love,
Kate, Mark and Baby Andersen
