7 weeks 1 day. Mark and I had our first ultrasound appointment today at Boston Medical Center. The technician first did the belly ultrasound. Being only 7 weeks, I wasn't sure if she'd be able to see anything. Within about 2 minutes after she started she said..."and there's your baby!". I looked over at the screen and saw a shape of a perfect little baby. I could clearly make out the heart - it was beating like a little bird's - the tech said 139 beats per minute (perfect for week 7!). She then did an internal ultrasound and took a video of the heartbeat. She measured our little one and he/she is measuring at 7 weeks and 1 day (again, "perfect"!). I was so happy to hear such wonderful news. It was so crazy to see the heartbeat in real time. It really hit me that there is a little baby in there. A truly amazing day and I'm so happy we were able to catch it on video. :) The tech saved the pics and video and brought Mark in after the exam to show him everything. Since he came prepared with the camera (the one with the video function - of course!), we were able to catch the play back on video. It was a truly amazing moment and we could not be more excited and happy knowing that this little one is growing stronger every day.
